So from what I read, Botticelli was influenced by Roman sculpture with The Birth of Venus, referencing the Venus pudica, a marble statue in Paris, Musée du Louvre. The pose for these two pieces are quite similar. He changed the proportions and mood to suit the idealized world that he was creating. So I thought it`d be fun to riff on the same idea and create my humble take on his version. This is my first painting in SketchBook Pro.
